4 1/2 stars--nice kettle
I actually found mine by accident at TJ Maxx, for a lot less, (though it retails on Kuhn Rikon's site for $60...) I was drawn to the simple design, the fact I could get inside to clean it properly and the wide, heavy-bottomed, stainless steel shape, as I have a gas stove top. The one piece handle moves securely and feels well-made. The cover snaps on tight--will not come off by accident. You can fill it via the spout or through the top. It wipes clean with ease. I've had it over one month and haven't had any discoloration. Nice kettle.
Nice Kettle For Induction Cooktop
Our new induction cooktop required new cookware, including a new kettle. Who knew one had to extensively research kettles? Our Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers and other gadgets are all first-class, so I didn't have any reservations about buying this kettle. It boils water quickly, handles easily and looks like it should have a long service life.
Impossible to melt!
My mother hates whistles.
On all of her previous kettles she would leave the whistle off.
Within the past 5 years, she has melted 3 kettles.
This kettle has this fantastic mechanism which opens the whistle when you pick up the kettle so that you can pour, but when you put it down, the whistle closes and is able to whistle.
Also, the whistle isn't very shrill, which is a plus.
And it boils water very quickly.
