Not great. Here's why....
I had bought this at a local store (not on Amazon), several years ago.
Here are the pros up front:
The pan has held up ok, and can actually withstand the weight of a decent sized turkey.
Okay, so that's two plusses.
Now the cons..
The dark color, for starters, encourages the drippings to burn- which isn't helpful if you are trying to make that perfect gravy... Same as with using lighter color cookie sheets to keep cookies from browning too much, a lighter colored pan reflects enough heat to brown without burning.
But the main thing working against this pan is the handles. When you are wearing oven mits, and taking a heavy turkey out of the oven, you don't want the handles to wiggle around, and slip down outside of reach. Yup, taking the turkey out of the oven is when this pan demonstrates it's weakness- the handles stay firm against the edge of the pan, making it impossible to slip a mitted thumb between the pan and the...
Nice product for the Price.
I was looking for a pan with rack that I could afford given that the holidays were upon me. It did a good job at Thanksgiving with a 14lb turkey and at Christmas with the ham. You can put the rack in upside down for flatter storage, which works well for me. The only problem I had was trying to get the handles out when taking the hot pan out of the oven, but for the price it is a good product.
It is what it is
I have only used this once since purchasing it and the finish has already started to deteriorate. The rack works nice when roasting a duck. It did what it was supposed to do, and I will continue using this.
