Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Four Star 5-Inch High Carbon Stainless-Steel Serrated Utility Knife

Top Quality, Long Lasting
We purchased a Henckels Four-Star set about ten (10) years ago and use it daily. Out of the set of six or seven knives, this utility knife is our most frequently used. It is extremely useful in food preparation, holds an edge longer than the other non-serrated knives, and isn't affected by dish-washer abuse.

This is a great product that will last you many years. One caveat: NEVER allow your MOTHER-IN-LAW to borrow it and use it as a screwdriver. It will be ruined - hence my purchase of a second one of these knives.

Henckel Quality and Versatility
I love all my Henckel knives, but this one is definitely the most versatile. It's 5" length and super sharp serrated blade make it ideal for vegetables as well as meats and smaller bread loaves. If you're not going to buy an entire set of quality knives, you really should have this one amongst the few you choose.

A terrific knife
This is a great, basic serrated knife. Not too big, not too small. Works wonderfully for a variety of kitchen jobs, including hard cheeses, tomatoes, cooked meats.

This is my second one. My first one got "borrowed" -- and I couldn't make it a week without buying the replacement! (The first one was at least 10 years old, and it looked as good and worked as well as the day I bought it...even though my husband kept putting it in the dishwasher instead of washing it by hand. Grrr.)

BergHOFF Earthchef 7-Inch Try Me Skillet

Mean, Clean Cooking Machine
I liked the idea of non-stick pans being made without hazardous materials, so I decided to try this skillet. It's EXCELLENT, and worth a lot more than it cost! Nothing sticks to it, not even water! I washed the pan before I used it, dumped out the water, and there was nothing left - completely dry! I mostly use it to cook eggs for breakfast, and no matter what I do, I can't get anything to stick to the darn thing! Just wipe it lightly and it's ready to go again.

Oh, and regarding the handle heating, which one or two other reviewers mentioned - don't worry about it. It's only an issue if you have the flame set so wide that you're heating the sides of the skillet instead of the bottom, which is wasteful as well as counterproductive. It only takes a small flame to develop sufficient, even heat under this sucker. I've left it on the burner for more than twenty minutes and I can still pick it up bare handed. I intend to get the larger version too. This company makes...

DO NOT BUY - Is not stick free after 1 month
Poor product - Poor customer service - Would not buy again for half the price

Warning: First time reviewer here, but I use the reviews of products exclusively on whether or not to purchase products on amazon.com. I do not want any other users to go through the same poor customer service I did only to gain nothing.

I have purchased a set of Berghoff Scala Ceramic coated frying pans. I used the main 12" pan for about a month. As time progresses the pan started to stick. I contacted the customer service dept. that told me to deep clean the pan with baking soda and water. After it was dry add oil to the pan while slowly reheating it. I did this several times to cure my pan as suggested by the customer service rep. He assured me that it would take some time for this to work. This took place over 4 months after purchasing the set. I then got preoccupied when moving into my renovated kitchen. After dealing with my renovation I found the pan again. It was now 12 months...

Great for Glass-top cooking
I have had this product (imported from a friend in Canada) for months, and use it almost daily. On a glass cooking surface, the handle is a non-issue - not hot to the touch as long as the proper burner size is selected. I can see how gas would have a bad effect, though! Non-stick is really a dream, and even stands up to high-heat cooking without damage. I have not noticed any flavors in the food. As a matter of fact, I can finally taste my food. Maybe the other reviewer has a bad pan? Or maybe my taste buds are not picking it up... At any rate, I am buying more of these, as they appear to be safe to cook with (no chemicals).

Eco Life Aluminum 8-Inch and 10-Inch Fry Pan, 2-Pack

Great nonstick pans!
I recently purchased a roasting pan by the same company and loved the weight, size, and the fact that there are no PFO/PFTE used in making the pan. This lead me to give these frying pans a try and I have not been dissapointed. The sizes are great and the non-stick works perfectly. They may seem pricey but after researching many brands of safe non-stick pans that had poor reviews I am very happy that I decided to try the frying pans from Eco Life.

Some of the best
I am very picky about cookware. I have gone through many non stick pans through the years and these are some of the best. The coating is not just one of the most "non stick" that I have used, it is also one of the most durable. I have been using these pans for almost a year now and see almost no wear to the cooking surface. Overall if you are in need of a quality product for a reasonable price these are a good pick.

Good pans but inferior quality.
I made one exchange for this set of pans due to damage to cooking surface. Received the replacement set and has similar problems. We will try one more exchange and see how thing fair. The cooking experience is great and as advertised. Have not used any oil or butter so far when using these pans. Cleaning is also a breeze.

Farberware High Performance Nonstick 12" Covered Deep Skillet, Black

Perfect!
This pan was bought to replace another Farberware pan that had met the end of it's useful life.

It worked out perfectly. The size and depth are as advertised. Good product. I would re-purchase ad recommend.

Warped on low heat
I had high hopes for this skillet: deep, with a clear glass lid, and nonstick. Unfortunately, the bottom warped when I had it on low heat on my glass cooktop stove. This meant it was no longer in contact with part of the burner. It's going back. I have a great Farberware 12" nonstick skillet (with no lid) that is shallower and heavier; it is the "Classic Stainless Steel" but the nonstick coating was wearing off. I can't find the pan anymore although it's not that old.

Perfect pan
After 3 years of search I found the perfect pan. The non-stick surface means no oil. I made a hashbrown, eggs & cheese dish and it wiped right out. The depth is perfect for one-pan meals.

Trudeau Stainless Steel Vegetable Steamer

"heat-resistant plastic" parts not so heat resistant
I loved this little steamer when I first picked it up. It folds gracefully into a dish shape that fits variable width pans, it folds back into a disc for compact storage, the little holes in the metal are nicely spaced and the right width to let enough steam out but not let bits of the food being steamed fall into the boiling water. So far so good.

But, it has a plastic handle and little plastic feet that sit in between it and the inside of the pan you boil water in. When I first saw this I thought: "Huh. Plastic in a high-heat cooking tool. Ah well, it's probably some sort of strong, heat resistant plastic." Well yes, up to the temperature of boiling water, sure. But the temperature of the pan the little feet are sitting on is a bit hot for it. The feet (and part of the handle) actually melted into the metal disk and the bottom of the pan when I left the steamer on for a few minutes after taking out my steamed veggies. The smell of burnt plastic was just awful, and took...

Nice little steamer!
This may sound odd, but this is the first steamer that I have ever had. So needless to say, I do not have others to compare it to. However,I find that I use it more than I thought I would! The unfolded steamer fits perfectly in the pot that I most use for vegies and the like, and when I pull out the sides (the steaming tray) it fits nicely up the sides of the pot. Besides your basic steamed vegies, I find that it's perfect for warming up leftovers like rice, leaving it hot and fluffy. I like that the handle extends, so you can keep the cover on it while cooking, but you can extend the handle for easier lifting. And you can't beat the price!

Flimsy
For me, the whole point of this product was the large size, and the ability to pull the steamer out of the pot by the extendable handle. (I like to steam a lot of broccoli at once, in a large pot.) PROBLEM: When trying to lift the "loaded" steamer out of the pot, the handle pulled right off. The handle should be strong enough to lift the weight of the loaded steamer, otherwise what's the point of the large capacity? Very disappointing.

Bormioli Rocco Fido Glass Canning Jar Italian - 1 Liter

Keeps my coffee beans smelling great
Keeps the beans fresh as long as you avoid heat & light. Hasp worked well once I got used to it.

Great Jars
Great jars, the only ones that I own for canning, I could use nothing less. If you see something in my kitchen that is not that, I should be shot.

Great for pantry storage
I have several of these jars in muliple sizes and I use them to store dry goods in my pantry. The seals are tight fitting and the glass is heavy--sturdy. Since they are clear glass, I can see at a glance when my supply is getting low. When I have the need for more heavy glass jars, I will order these.

14" Hard Anodized Non-Stick Wok with Steamer and Lid

Huge, non-stick wok/steamer combo for medium or low heat only
This wok/steamer combo is a quality product that I can either use as a wok OR a steamer but not both at once. I steamed a lot of spinach in the steamer and since the steamer was large enough I was able to move the spinach around so that it steamed quickly (within 5 minutes after water was boiled) and it didn't wilt too much. I also used the wok to make the sitr-fried chili scallops with baby bok choy from this book Stir-Frying to the Sky's Edge: The Ultimate Guide to Mastery, with Authentic Recipes and Stories that I purchased specifically for this wok. This meal came out excellent even on the medium heat but I did have to add about 2 minutes to the cooking time and I used wooden instead of metal utensils so as not to scratch the non-stick coating.

What I really like about this cookware is:

- The pan is sturdy, non-stick, and cleans easily; similar to an expensive Calphalon pot I...

Looks as if it will last for decades
This super heavy wok-steamer combo is designed to last for a very long time. The quality construction (it looked and felt like my Calphalon pans) is obvious, as is the versatility. Another reviewer mentioned some nicks and flaws in the base of her wok, but mine arrived in pristine condition.

If you love to make dim sum, or steamed veggies, the steamer capacity is enormous. You could probably steam a whole fish with no trouble. For those who like to make steamed puddings, there is more room than I have ever seen on any steamer, period. Ditto, the wok. Outside of a busy Asian restaurant, I have not seen many woks of this diameter (14"). While that's fantastic if you are cooking for a crowd, it's also helpful if you're cooking for one and want leftovers. Also, with more surface area your food can spread out and cook faster.

I am a big fan of tempered glass covers, and this one gives you a full view of everything you're cooking.

One big caveat: the...

My orange chicken recipe has finally found a home
I have a few Asian recipes we cook for our family several times a month. If you have not cooked with a wok, it is the only way to go. Combine that with the steamer function of this pan and you've got an awesome dinner no matter how you cooked it.

I don't know a thing about the brand "The Chef's Toolbox" but I can tell you this much. This pan is so well made that it looks like you could keep pass it down as a dang heirloom! We use this thing all of the time and it still looks new after washing. (We hand wash it). The quality of construction is something like you would find at high end epicurean stores.

This pan heats up quickly and heats EVENLY... which is great. No burnt food due to hot spots from those cheap pans. I will mention this pan is pretty large. We had to clear out a nice sized spot for it and put other stuff in it to fit our storage area. But size aside, it is the best pan I've ever used. My next pan purchase will start with a search for...

Stainless Steel 1.25-Qt Bain Marie - 4-1/8" Dia. X 5-5/8" Deep

Good item
It was a bit taller then expected. Overall a good item use to hold my tools as I work in the kitchen.

Hoping for the Best
The 3 1/2 qt. Bain Marie met specific measurement requirements and is stainless steel. After several uses of the Bain Marie, It's been noticed there's a tiny spot in the bottom that, hopefully, isn't a flaw in the stainless. Was of the impression that, under reasonable use, stainless steel would survive for years. Will continue to watch and hope the spot doesn't increase in size or depth.

Exelent product thanks

Emile Henry 13-by-10-Inch Lasagna Baker, Azure Blue

Great purchase
I will make it short - really great and high quality product. Ideal for lasagna, oven baked chicken and other baked stuff including deserts. Easy to clean. Really worth of buying.

Good lasagna dish
Well, this dish gets the job done. For me the lasagna dish works out to a good height for the lasagna. I imagine with this dish you do have to be careful with it. It is can be heavy once filled. It is also easy to clean up afterwards.

My favorite bakeware by far ... Emile Henry
This is a beautiful dish to accompany my other Emile Henry items. You just can't beat this brand for beauty, quality, durability and easy clean-up. You won't regret buying Emile Henry products ... my very favorite and ... my highest recommendation. With care, they last a lifetime, so they are well worth the initial investment ... from preparation to serving in style ... to easy clean-up.

All-Clad Stainless 3-Quart Saucepan with Loop

Versatile and sturdy saucepan
Whether you are simmering a delicate soup, making jam, reheating yesterday's dinner, or you have put beans on the stove, at a boil, and forgotten them - utterly, with a trip to the library and an assortment or errands done, returning hours later to a smoke-filled house and unrecognizable ashen material on your All-Clad Saucepan - this wonderful pot will handle the task. Conscientious cooks will love its weight, even heating, and versatility. Distractable cooks will especially appreciate the fact that it cleans up without a hitch. In addition there is a sensible 'loop' in the handle for hanging from a rack, and another in the lid's handle, so that you can slip the lid handle down the pot's handle, and hang the set neatly from a pot rack. I've had mine for years. The weight is just right, it is good-looking, made in the USA, and a double-boiler insert is available for this size, which is also a good item, and usable as a separate saucepan if need be. Great product, and worth the money,...

Good Pot but not the most used one.
I have a set of All Clad pots and I tend to use the 1, 2 & 4 qt pots more often than the 3. I suppose that's because of the choices I have. Needless to say, the 3 works best as the bottom of the double boiler or the steamer insert. (The one that fits the 3 or the 4 qt pots.) And that's what I use mine for.

3 qts doesn't hold quite enough water for cooking pasta for 3. It's a little too big for 2 cups of rice, it's too big for a pt of soup. (That's 3 servings) Yet sometimes the 4qt pot is too big and then I reach into the back of the cabinate and pull this pot out.

So my recomendation is if you want to use the ALL CLAD double boiler (A good double boiler insert) or Steamer insert Get this pot. Otherwise fill in the other parts of your collection first. Of course if you are feeding 5, instead of 3 you may find yourself wanting this pot vs the 2qt than I do.

Positives: The pot is really well made. It's hard to burn stuff in it with that thick core, and Stainless steel goes...

Top of the line cookware
Heavy cast or rolled aluminum is the optimum material for pots and pans. Based on this fact, Magnalite cast aluminum gourmet cookware was the best you could get from about the 1950's through the '70's. However, there are some problems with aluminum as a cooking surface. Some foods react with it and cause discoloration; it's hard to clean, a fact that became glaringly obvious with the advent of non-stick surfaces. And there have been reported health issues related to cooking food in contact with aluminum (experts currently assess the risks as insignificant).

All-Clad is the heir apparent to the position of "creme de la creme" among cookware. The inner layer of metal is aluminum to evenly conduct heat throughout the pan. The cooking surface is stainless steel, the ideal surface because it is non-reactive, easy cleaning, and more durable than nonstick compounds. All Clad offers a variety of exterior finishes to suit your taste. Finally, this line is WELL BUILT. It will...

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain Nonstick 9-Inch and 11-Inch Nonstick Skillet Twin Pack, Robin's Egg Blue Speckle

Pretty when new - scratches way too easily
I like the way food cooks in these skillets right now, but they are not quite two months old and already they are scratched. The the only utensils ever used in them are the ones that were sold with the set. I love them now, but am waiting to see what they will be like in a few months.

06/18/13 I have had these for two years now, and we still love them. They have scratched on the cooking surface a little more than I would have liked, but still cook the food nicely. The outside of the pan is easy to clean and still as beautiful as the day we bought them.

Paula Deen Signature Porcelain 9 & 11 inch Nonstick Skillet Set
Paula Deen Signature Porcelain 9 & 11 inch Nonstick Skillet Set, Butter

I've been looking for an all purpose skillet set that is versitile and can distribute the heat evenly throughout the bottom of the skillet, these Paula Deen skillets are the best that I've tried and nothing sticks to the bottom.

Like most kitchens, mine has pots and pans from various manufactures, an after shot of my trials to find something that approaches the ultimate cooking surface. I must say this: They are the best that I've tried.

These are some of the attributes:

Dual-riveted, rubberized, stay-cool handles; copper-plated rings for convenient hanging

Good Cook Mini Fry Pan, Red

flaking enamel
Pros: Small size solves the problem of overheating a larger nonstick pan when cooking small items with cooking spray

Cons: After less than 10 days use, the red enamel is coming off in multiple places; Pan is very light weight.

Great for single people! Or single servings...
IN the mornings I just want to cook ONE egg, and this is the perfect skillet for it. I've also used it for a few pieces of raw chicken for a fajita, or a small amount of sauce or marinade that needs quick heating. It's so small it looks like a child's toy skillet. Put it on your smallest burner - I have a scrambled egg in 3 min. And easy to clean too! Fits neatly in my kitchen utensil drawer - no need to get it lost in messy pot/pan cabinet.

Still going strong after 1 year
Purchased this pan one year ago and have used it over a hundred times on a gas range. The quality of the non stick is very good and it still doesn't stick. The handle is holding strong which is funny because it is flimsy since the day it arrived. The finish has tarnished from the gas range but that doesn't effect performance. Try this pan and you'll be suprised how much use it gives for the price.

Shabu Shabu Nabe Hot Pot 26cm #0033

Have this pot for over 10 years
This is a quality pot which I have used it for over 10 years. All handles are coated so you can touch them while cooking. So I do not think that they will be rust. I think the previous reviewer bought a different product? I made all kinds of hot pot (Shabu Shabu, Sichoen style chinese hot pot, thai style sukiyaki, vietnamese Pho, etc)in this pot. It has served me very well since I was just a college kid and lived in a small apartment. Keep in mind that this pot is a little small. It can serve 2-4 people only. At my parents' home, we had a non-stick pot that is bigger and can serve the whole family. However, the non-stick chipped only a year of constant uses.

Nevertheless, I rated this for 4 1/2 stars. I used the pot heavily, so one of the small rings/handles on the cover has become lose so it will touch the cover while cooking so you can't touch it without using a kitchen cloth. However, this can be easily fixed. I normally tie the ring with a piece of paper towel so the...

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 15-3/4-by-10-3/4-Inch Rectangular Roaster, Fennel

Awesome deep dish pizza pan!
I purchased this piece as part of a set from Williams Sonoma. It was a great price, but when I unpacked this enormous baker I wondered what I was ever going to use it for. We are a family of two, and if I used it for something like lasagna we would be eating leftovers for a month. I found, however, that it makes the best deep dish pizza EVER! We haven't ordered delivery in at least two years, and I use the pan once a week. It's now one of my favorite le creuset items. A word of caution, though. I'm not very big, and the baker weighs at least ten pounds. I dropped it once when it was still wet and slipped out of my hands, and it cracked my kitchen floor tiles! Proceed with caution, but get ready for the best pizza you've ever had in your life!

excellent piece of cookware
My favorite roasting pan! Yes, it's expensive, it's made to last a life time and then some.

Performs beautifully every time and cleans up very easily with just a short soak in hot water. I use it for just about all my roasting needs. It makes the best sauces and gravies too, since the meat juices carmelize nicely on the bottom. And it goes easily from stovetop to oven and back to stovetop again.

I also use it for making lasagna, roasted vegetables, tuna casserole, rice pudding and bread pudding. The even heating of the cast iron turns out a nice product every time. I even use it for a water bath for my ramikins of custard (preheat it first).

I like the low profile, cast handles too. No problem storing this pan.

One caution: Treat the finish carefully, do not use metal utensils against the enamel finish, since they can scratch and damage it. Do not use it in the broiler, which can also damage the finish. I put an old dish towel inside it when...

exceptional!
Fabulous roaster, and a must-have for any kitchen. There is nothing like LeCreuset's enameled cast iron for perfect roasting, brasing, casseroles. I roasted my Greek chicken recipe with potatoes and lemon in this, and it came out to perfection. Meat and vegetables nicely roasted/browned, sauce was rich, and chicken was very tender. Far better results than pyrex bakers or even a Calphalon roaster I have. And it makes such a nice presentation for serving and cleans up beyond compare.

If you do much oven roasting, or cooking from-stovetop-to-oven, LC's enameled cast iron is by far the best option available. I used have to brown meat in a separate pan, and transfer to pyrex bakers for the oven -- not any more! The durability and even-heating of the LC cast iron is outstanding. I am thrilled with this piece!

Futura Non-Stick Deep-Fry Pan(Kadhai) 2-1/2-Litre with Steel Lid and Round Bottom

Nice product.
Simple and Handy. Good for cooking Indian foods like Puri, Vada, Savories, etc.,If the base is made slightly flat instead of spherical, it would have been still better to rest over the stove. Now this is little shaky due to spherical pointed base.

Fragile handles
My wife ordered one of these and it arrived with one handle broken. We ordered a replacement and the second one arrived with a broken handle too!

Finally I removed the intact handle from one and fixed it on the other to have one of these with two handles! We returned one. Apart from the handles the product seems alright. What could possibly go wrong with a kadai? Hope they make it of non-fragile materials in future.

Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-1/2-Inch Skillet

Solid build, nice design, perfect balance
This is a very nice collection of cookware. Nice design (I like the copper touch), very solid construction and apparent good quality. I have several more pieces of this collection, all of the same quality. Not the cheapest cookware, but one of the few solid/good looking collections that work on induction tops. Heats up quickly on my induction cooktop for energy-efficient cooking.

I started collecting only cookware and stoneware in the color "cassis" when it first came out as my kitchen has lavender/purple accents. Commercial Aluminum Pancake Batter Dispenser

Excellent dispenser
I recommend it to all. is one of the best out there. it is worth the money you pay.

Thanks.

OK, but does not work well with thicker batters
I would rate this gadget higher if it was able to dispense thicker batters. It adjusts, but the larger drop adjustment only works well with a relatively thin batter. I can't use it with the batter we prefer. Even at the largest drop setting it took four drops to make a 6" pancake.

If you like a thin batter, this is a cool gadget. The one we received was a little dented, but I banged the dent out and it looked like new. It is not hard to clean, and the concept obviously works, just with thinner batters.

Did not work
The shaft was bent and would not work. I contacted you and the co. sent me a return slip and I sent it back to them and ask them to send us another which has not happened as of today. Circulon Contempo Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Inch Square Griddle

Warped in less than 1 week
We got this as a wedding present. The second time I used it, I could tell it had warped. It wasn't used on high heat and wasn't cleaned hot. Plus, it doesn't lie flat on the burner (electric element) so it causes hot spots that cooks part of the food quicker and others more slowly. The nonstick coating was good. Food came off easy and was easy to clean.

I don't recommend this product. Look elsewhere if you want a griddle. Pay the extra money for a nice heavy-gauge one.

NOT for Induction
I'm not sure why this product comes up if you search for "Induction Griddle" on Amazon, but this is not. I was fooled because I own another Circulon set that is induction compatible, but I was sad to see when this arrived that it is complete aluminum. I didn't read the description carefully since it came up in my search, so don't be fooled! However, if induction is not your concern, this was a beautiful pan, and I love Circulon!

Open lid, perfectly poached egg eases out with a push from the fork--no sticking, no mess, no clean up. Ready for another set. Throw in top dishwasher rack for sparkling clean or rinse with a soapy dishcloth, rinse and dry. Perfect poached eggs for toast, breakfast sandwiches. Didn't know lid could be used for cooking, too. Now, when eggs are done and bread is toasting, will put a couple pieces of Canadian bacon on the lid "rack". Seconds later, poached egg, Canadian bacon on toast. Or for one serving, an egg in one "bowl", the bacon in the other. Take the bacon out after the first peek. Pour a glass of orange juice and...

Used every other day for 2 years
I eat a breakfast sandwich every single morning and it calls for a poached egg. I bought this one because it was inexpensive and I wasn't entirely sure if I would make that many breakfast sandwiches. Well 2 yrs later I am looking for one that makes more than 2 eggs at a time, but unless you use this as much as I do it will likely be more than sufficient.

It can hold any size egg and it's best to make 2 at a time. Eggs have a tendancy to explode unless you stop them 2/3 of the way through and poke at them with a fork a bit. Clean-up is a pain in the behind and putting it in the dishwasher only leaves you with stuck-on cooked egg. However it's easy to store, does the job and you have perfectly poached eggs in 2+ minutes. I am giving 5 stars because I have more than gotten my monies worth and it does make nice, evenly cooked eggs.

Egg poacher/ scrambled eggs
This is exactly what I wanted. I use it to cook scrambled eggs that are round and fit on biscuits. My husband loves sausage, egg biscuits and when you use egg rings they are flat and you have to use oil. You fill this up half way,(no oil, so no fat) microwave for 1min 15 sec, wait 1 min. and you're ready. I put a paper towel inside and turn over. The eggs will stay warm for 10 to 15 min. Easy to clean. Great

Rachael Ray Stoneware 3-Piece Serving Set, Purple

RACHEL RAY STONEWARE REVIEW
I AM USING THESE ITEMS TO SERVE FOOD, DON'T LIKE THAT I CAN'T LET THE PRODUCT SOAK FOR MORE THAN 10 MINUTES. I LOVE THE COLOR AND LIKE THAT YOU CAN PUT IT IN THE OVEN AND MICROWAVE.

Wife loved it!
Wish they made more in purple as we just traded in the traditional orange Rachel Ray gear for the purple

Great Stoneware!
Love Rachael Ray stoneware. I bought all mine orange, the colour is bright, cleanup is easy and they are of good weight without being too heavy. It is such a great set that I bought another. I use these every time we entertain. Two thumbs up!

Thunder Group 200 Quart Aluminum Stock Pot

Great, but not perfect
I received this pot as a gift and my first impression was "holy cow...that's awesome!"... My favorite thing about it is I can heat up an 8 oz serving of chili and still have room for 799 more servings in case guests come over unexpectedly.

The other day I decided that I'd make a bunch of chicken soup I started out by adding 4 large boxes of swansons broth (two gallons), but was especially happy to find out that I still had room for 98 more boxes! After dumping in 25 whole chickens, 10 times more broth, a bushell of mixed vegetables and all of the seasonings I collapsed my stove. The lid fit tightly though and nothing spilled-- luckily. After replacing my stove with an 8 burner Viking for only $15,000 (not counting the $8,000 remodel to make room for it) I was able to get back to cooking the soup.

After about 4 days it began to simmer and it smelled great. After a week or so I took out all the bones and began to decant it into serving size containers. Now,...

Lodge Original Finish Grill Press

Excellent bacon press
Nice addition to your kitchen if you are cooking bacon, which tend to curl up. The bottom is smooth, with no places for food to catch and hide.

Cavet, the first one I had, the spring on the handle broke. (the wire spring is welded to the wire handle, it must have been overheated as the wire spring broke loose from the handle. Not incapacitating it, as the spring just rolls in you hand, but annoying.) I wrote Lodge Mfg, and they sent a replacement which has worked fine ever since. Hence 4 stars instead of 5.

Requires some assembly, a screwdriver and a small wrench. Easy for any handyperson to do.

Old-fashioned practicality
I like the heft of cast iron, and the cooking results, too. I have well-seasoned skillets handed down from my grandmother. But every once in a while you come across something so darned "obvious" that you just have to smile. This is one of them. You can use it on the grill or in a skillet. Flat bacon is only one of MANY uses. The handle is also old-fashioned. It dissipates heat pretty fast, so unless you're using it in an oven or on a closed grill, I haven't found any problem.

works fine but the handle gets hot
This works great to flatten bacon. I chose this instead of the larger circular one and it fits better in more of my pans. The only question I have is why they didn't spend an extra 50 cents and put a wooden handle instead of a metal one which gets so hot one has to use an oven mitt just to pick up the press.

Lid for 12" Wok (dome lid 18 gauge) Made in USA

A Lid for my Wok
Bought the Lid , works and fits great on my 12" wok .. I should have just bought
the set that has every thing . But I was glad I could buy the lid and I also bought
the rack .. very happy chow mein is great ..................

Does the job
We ordered this separately to use with my wife's new wok. Works fine - it is sturdy & easy to clean.

Two minor complaints: 1) The handle wasn't screwed on tight enough upon arrival, and 2) the rounded lip makes it a little harder to balance over some 12" cookware.

Hope that helps.

- Greg

Just right
This lid is perfect for the twelve inch Wok I bought. It performs exactly as expected each and every time I use it.

Staub Basil Enameled Cast Iron Round Cocotte, 2.75 Quart

All the benefits of cast iron without the maintenance
This pot is the perfect size to make a meal for 2-3 people. You can't beat cast iron for it's heat retention but it can be a hassle to clean, dry, keep oiled...etc. This pot has a gorgeous enamel on the outside and a glaze on the inside that helps prevent sticking. Is it as non-stick as a Teflon pan...no; but it's easy to use and easy to clean. I use mine all the time and just keep it on the stove top, it's that pretty.

Fantastic cookware. This piece was a gift for my daughter, however I have 5 pieces of Staub and I love it.

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 2 1/2 qt. Sauce Pan & Cover

Its a pot!
Its a pot. Its pretty, its heavy duty, its Calphalon. Its obviously a quality mainstream piece of cookware. I have two of the cheaper non stick Calphalon pans that are simply wonderful, which is what inspired me to get this.

However, I am not too fond of a couple things. 1) Stuff seems to stick really easily to it compared to other pots used. 2) The lid seems VERY, VERY cheap. I am kinda just waiting for the weld to break so I can send it back. The lid makes noises as it heats up and cools down. I understand why its happening, but IDT it should be happening, at all.

All in all, I am pretty stoked on the pot. Maybe just because its pretty. Meh. Recommended.

::EDIT::
So after having this pot for 7-8 months, I will say that it is a great pot. I use it nearly every single day, and despite my earlier quip about the lid, it is holding strong, even after my girlfriend knocked it onto the counter from 3 feet up. So, needless to say the lid is NOT cheap,...

Calphalon Tri-ply stainless cookware
I recently switched from gas to induction, and these Tri-ply came rated highly. I traded out a 10-year old set of Calphalon stainless cookware that still looked and cooked like new, but such is progress and I needed something that would work on an induction stove. These new ones definitely do.

Pros:
1. they look fabulous and are elegant.
2. on an induction stove, they respond terrifically. I would assume they're as good as any other stainless cookware on electric or gas.

Cons:
1. the handles are wretched, far too thin (not flimsy) to control the pan well. I don't have huge hands, just average, but if you have anything in the pans to make them a little heavy, you'll probably find it hard to manage the pan with these handles. They look great but don't give you much leverage - it's like trying to control a bowling ball with a pencil sticking out of it.
2. the lids, while they do work and do a good job of directing moisture right back into...

The perfect sized pot
This is the most useful pan I have ever had. I also have the steamer insert which fits on it, along with 2 identical lids; one lid came with the pot and one came with the steamer insert. We use this pot for chili, pasta, steaming veggies, steaming seafood, steaming corn on the cob, making soup, boiling potatoes, and somebody even popped corn in it once. It's just the perfect size -- not too big and not too small. Love it! I always find great things for sale on Amazon.

Grillex US-10 Indoor Brazilian Portable Barbecue Grill

wonderful grilling device
This grilling device is everything the product description says and more! I bought it thinking I can make churrasco, but I've since made chicken tikka, Middle Eastern lamb kabobs and more. Everything so far has come out very tender and moist, and best of all, the cleanup is a breeze--no splatter at all! Anticipating that I'd probably need more than the 5 skewers provided, I ordered an extra set of 4 when placing my original order. Turned out it was a smart move on my part, very proud of myself! This piece of cooking equipment is definitely more than just a curious gadget, I will be using it over and over again, for sure.

"Amazing!"
I purchased this back in April and it sat in a box until July, when I used it for the first time. I didn't have high hopes for it but I thought, "What the heck. Let's see what it does."

Since I dine at Brazilian Churrascaria restaurants (Fogo de Chao, Espetus), I decided to do the traditional Picanha, with the salt-garlic brine. I cut each piece to be around 2" x 5" x 1" and fold each piece to a "C" shape. Each skewer can fit 3 to 4 pieces. Shewer the meat so that the flat side is parallel with "C" shape --- it makes it easier to slice later on.

Here's what I did:

After washing all the parts the first time, assemble the grill and place it on your biggest burner. Turn the heat on high (for beef). Make sure you put in 2 cups of water. Brush the brine on the beef and lower the skewers in. Place the skewers in with the "C" shape side facing the center. Rotate 180 once it's brown. Serve when both sides are golden brown.

When you slice off the...

Grilling and losing weight!
I LOVE to eat and I LOVE my local Brazilian churrascaria steakhouses nearby, but times are tough and I need to stop indulging. I have to admit, I bought this Grillex Indoor Brazilian BBQ grill on an empty stomach dreaming of all the scrumptious meat I'd be able to partake of at any hour of the day. When it arrived and I set it up, truly my eyes were bigger than my stomach.

This product comes with 5 skewers, a basket accessory and a double prong skewer along with the stove-top apparatus; but to be honest, I've only used the 5 skewers and even that is too much food. I started by grilling 3 skewers of meat and 2 with vegetables. But of late, I find myself grilling 2 skewers of vegetables au natural with just salt and pepper and one skewer of meat and I find myself satisfied. I've left marinating meat and vegetables and just cooking them from raw to roasted with minimal seasoning.

Darn if I didn't lose 5 pounds in 1 week (In the interest of full disclosure: I made a...

Orgreenic 12 inch Frying Pan Lid [82-12LID] -

Problems with 12 inch Orgreenic Lid
First I did not buy a lid from this site but I have purchased two lids from two other websites in the last two weeks the two lids are identical and neither will fit a 12 inch Orgreenic pan; I have two pans purchased from two different sites. I have a similar lid from a 11 1/2" set that does fit and seat properly. This is just my experience with Orgreenic 12 inch pans and lids.

LID DOES NOT FIT
82-12LID: My Orgreenic skillet is brand new. I bought a whole set after getting the skillet and I love it all. I went looking for a lid for my skillet and was delighted when I found this one...until I received it. It does not fit properly. If you buy this item be aware that it is a full 1/2" bigger than it should be. It makes an effective spatter deterrent so I will keep it as it is a better alternative than nothing at all but for those of you to whom it matters, be aware that this lid is too large for the pan for which it is said to have been designed.

The lid does what it is supposed to do.
The lid sets on the rim of the orgreenic frying pan but still covers well enough to function properly. It's a good lid, but you need a pot holder to handle it when the handle gets hot! I like this product.

Le Parfait French Glass Canning Jar with 100mm Gasket and Lid -3 Liter

Wonderful, exactly what I was looking for! (couldn't find the gasket in the packing though)
I am using these to store loose teas & herbs. They are exactly what I was looking for, work great, and the price can't be beat. Everything else I've been finding for bulk food storage has been either plastic (which can't be used with tea, it ruins the flavor) or enameled tins that are $80+. I like these so much that after buying four in my initial order, I think I'll buy at least another six (or maybe 10).

Seriously, these are wonderful, tall & narrow so don't take up much space as long as your shelf is tall enough, nice thick glass, amazing value for the price.

Since they are clear glass, I'm storing them in our root cellar since herbs can loose their color & flavor is exposed to light for long periods of time.

And I couldn't find the gaskets in the packing material. Not sure if they were missed in the packing, or if I didn't look hard enough, or what. For anyone else running into this problem, the gasket size is not stated in the product description...

GREAT PRODUCT
Excellent product!!! It seals tight and I was able to make my holiday cordials with no problems. I really don't have any more to say since it is a great product!

A question
I love these jars. I do have a question, hope someone can help me. The item description states: "Some people also use Le Parfait jars with special gaskets to make fermented foods; in this case, the gasket allows gas to escape from the jar, but not to enter it." Does anyone know where to find those gaskets? I looked on the Le Parfait site, couldn't find them. May have missed them, not sure. I have looked lots of places. Thanks for your help.

Kuhn Rikon 2.2-Quart Easy-Pour Stainless Kettle

4 1/2 stars--nice kettle
I actually found mine by accident at TJ Maxx, for a lot less, (though it retails on Kuhn Rikon's site for $60...) I was drawn to the simple design, the fact I could get inside to clean it properly and the wide, heavy-bottomed, stainless steel shape, as I have a gas stove top. The one piece handle moves securely and feels well-made. The cover snaps on tight--will not come off by accident. You can fill it via the spout or through the top. It wipes clean with ease. I've had it over one month and haven't had any discoloration. Nice kettle.

Nice Kettle For Induction Cooktop
Our new induction cooktop required new cookware, including a new kettle. Who knew one had to extensively research kettles? Our Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers and other gadgets are all first-class, so I didn't have any reservations about buying this kettle. It boils water quickly, handles easily and looks like it should have a long service life.

Impossible to melt!
My mother hates whistles.
On all of her previous kettles she would leave the whistle off.
Within the past 5 years, she has melted 3 kettles.
This kettle has this fantastic mechanism which opens the whistle when you pick up the kettle so that you can pour, but when you put it down, the whistle closes and is able to whistle.
Also, the whistle isn't very shrill, which is a plus.
And it boils water very quickly.

Apple Pie Decorative Kitchen Dishwasher Cover Large by Collections Etc

Makes my kitchen homey
Didn't realize my dishwasher wasng magnetic so I taped it on it because the design is beautiful and homey :) love it

dishwasher cover
The quality is wonderful, I purchased the shorter cover as this was a gift for my mother. She absolutely loves it and gets many compliments.

Very cute decorative accent!
I really like the decorative dishwasher magnet I purchased. It was a bit long for my dishwasher but was easy to trim down to fit. I'd recommend this item to anyone with a apple or country themed kitchen. It would also looks nice on a refrigerator door for a standard fridge. My only complaint is that it took a while to get it to lay flat against the surface since it came rolled up in a box for shipping which made it want to roll especially at the ends for a good while, but eventually it did flatten back out.

AirBake Ultra by T-fal 08613PA T491ADK2 Insulated Nonstick 16 x 14-Inch Large Cookie Sheet Bakeware, Gray

An invaluable piece of kitchen ware, but you have to know its quirks!
I bought my first AirBake cookie sheet almost 20 years ago, as soon as I heard about them. I had been trying for years to get consistent quality cookies using old fashioned baking sheets in an even older, uneven-heating oven (in a NYC apartment. Needless to say, there were a lot of 'factory seconds' that my roommates got to polish off. The most persistent problems was cookies that got really dark on the bottom before the top was cooked -- changing the oven temp up or down didn't improve the results; just made them happen quicker or more slowly.

Enter the AirBake pan. It took quite a bit of experimentation with baking temp to get optimum results (setting the oven 25 degrees higher than specified in the recipe works best for me), but ultimately the results were fantastic. The really great thing about these pans is the way they distribute heat evenly -- even if your oven has hot and cold zones. And no more black bottoms!

My first edition AirBake pans finally started...

AirBake is good for some purposes
My experience with AirBake cookie sheets is that they are good for some purposes -- slow-baking still-frozen chocolate chip cookie dough (*See note at end), for one example. With some other kinds of cookies, however, the tops tend to dry out before the cookie is completely cooked.

The AirBake pan's even heat distribution can be approximated by putting an empty (old, cheap) cookie sheet on the bottom rack (lowest position) in your oven as a combination drip-catcher and heat-distributor to "shield" your regular cookie sheet (which you'll put, as usual, on the center rack). If you have an unreliable oven, you may find that this is enough to even out the heat distribution without having to resort to the AirBake pans, and you'll have a leg up on cleaning the oven if anything spills.

While I generally dislike nonstick surfaces, I find that my AirBake pan is particularly bad at releasing sugar cookies, and I recommend that you put down a layer of parchment paper if you're baking...

Perfect bake
This is a great product. Bakes evenly, uniform browning. Easy to clean. I'm going to buy more of this bake ware. I've had it for years and am very pleased with the results.

The Bartenders Black Book 10th Edition

The best recipe guide
The black book is my favorite recipe guide for bartending. If you want more on the history of mixology however, you will not find it here. If you are looking for something with more wit and historical/practical information on spirits and bar service see "the bartenders bible"

Excellent Read
Wow, the author really knows his trade, the book is the experience of many years as a bartender, and it shows.

The book is well laid out by subject, and practical for on the job reference.

Great training aid or refresher.

The best.
Only one book to have for a mixologists and this is it. Why? Because it is indexed by alcohol type and also,of course, in alphabetical order. Also, the author has chapters that will help you with your bar tendering. It is more than just recipes. Warning, print is very small but necessary for the book's binding and size. Buy it.

Canning Magnetic Lid Wand

Lid Wand...
The magnet is very weak and I struggled with retrieving my jar lids from the pot of scalding water. If you excel at games that test hand-steadiness, you will be able to use this product. In my case, I found it frustrating as the surface tension of the water would often pull the lid from the magnet so I would start over again...and again....and again.

Harold Import 43605 Canning Magnetic Lid Wand
This simple tool is an absolute must for the home canning process. It has to be used in near boiling water to retrieve glass jar lids and seals which has not affected this tool.

I mean...it's a magnet.
A review for a little magnet...really? But here I am. This little canning lid magnet is useful to have on hand when doing your home canning. It is intended to allow the retrieval of a canning lid from the hot water you used to sterilize your lids and rings and to prevent burns and scalds during such retrieval. What can I say? I mean...it's a magnet. It works and I am pleased to have this handy little item. It is light-weight and easily stored in a drawer or with your canning supplies.

Town Food Service 22 Inch Steel Cantonese Style Wok

Huge!
I was excited to receive my wok, but did not anticipate how large it is. It is too large for me to utilize for a family of two, and it better fitted for a large family or a restaurant.

Excellent Quality
22 inch is great for big cooking quantities. Great quality wok. Remember its big size and don't forget to season the wok.

Huge Commercial Wok
This is a great wok. This is also a huge wok. I was looking for a larger wok to cook a full batch of fried rice without worrying about spillage, and this is perfect. Due to its size, you will need to have a dedicated wok burner/turkey fryer to even use this. I can't imagine any home range being able to accommodate and heat this thing effectively. The metal is quite thick (14 gauge, I believe). The handles are firmly welded to the wok, and the weld marks have been smoothed out on the inside. Overall, it is built like a tank and does not flex at all. It comes coated with thick protective oil which needs to be removed, and--like all carbon steel woks--it needs to be properly seasoned before initial use.

CHI Cuisine 10 Piece Nonstick Ceramic Cookware (Blue)

handle fell off
The pots and pans are quite thin, but they have very nice and thick stainless steel disks attached to the bottoms, so they were heating evenly. The nonstick ceramic was good and really non-stick for about a month I used the set.
Unfortunately, then one of the handles on the pot fell off just as I filled it with water to boil. I am so very happy it didn't happen when the water was hot. The handle was attached to welded housing with a screw, but it seems like the thread was stripped off so the screw didn't have much to hold on to. The housing itself was quite small and not very deep.
I really liked the set until it broke.
I bought it here an Amazon from Maximum Discount seller. When I got the set, the smallest lid was mismatched (blue metal instead of silver), I wrote to the seller, but they didn't respond. After the handle fell off, I made a claim with Amazon, and it was resolved quickly.

fantastic pans
These pans are fantastic!! I absolutly love them!! I mean when u can basicly wipe it clean with a paper towel how great is that & without all the nasty chemicals of a traditional nonstick pan! U will love these pans!!

Ecolution Pure Intentions Stainless Steel 5-Quart Dutch Oven with Glass Lid

Very nice - handles don't heat up and I love the clear lid
Finally, after getting a nice set of pots and pans as a wedding gift for a nephew and his bride, I decided it's time to replace the Revereware I've been using since the sixties. This dutch oven was a great buy and a great improvement over the Revereware - attractive and sturdy (not too heavy), with a glass lid that allows me to keep an eye on things and handles that don't heat up. And I can use it in the oven too - I'm very happy with it.

Ecolution forever
My kids went off to college, so I needed a smaller soup-pot - smaller meals for just mom and dad. Not sure of what to get, but I saw this at a great price and decided to try it, figuring I could afford to toss it out if it didn't work out. Well, wow!! I have cooked everything in it ever since, and just love it. It is so lightweight to use, simply pretty, easy to clean, and with stainless-steel I don't have to worry about scratching the surface. Ecolution is the brand I'll shop for in the future.

Shabby Quality
Stainless steel of the pot, if it can be called that, is of terrible quality. With just a few uses, the inside of the pot pitted and then rusted from the sites of the pits.
